Involved Movements

After continuous observation of his designs I noticed that they all had much in common. Rand consistently created playful, simple yet serious designs. Whether they were aesthetically appealing to a modern-day person's eye is not the concern here -- all the designs had an accomplished sense to them.

This " accomplished " sentiment to his pieces could have been contributed by the various design processes and methodologies which had only recently developed. Rand had taken much of European ideas and put his personal touch to them. He took from movements such as Cubism, Constructivism, De Stijl, and Swiss typographic design.
