What do you, as a budding design student or visitor, believe design is? Typically one sees decorative art or simply pretty pictures as design. Design is simple, a translation of aesthetics, complex -- it is art, it is many things. But all these things help more to describe design than to define it. Typical definitions categorically are parts or the whole of a process, description, or concept of design, but rarely do these grasp what design truly is, or if you won't have it, what it could be.
If you understand that you haven't quite grasped a decent comprehension of what design is, then why continue learning about design, about its processes and mechanics? Under what context can design possibly be good, let alone bad -- especially if the final judge, the client is none other than yourself?
